The BBQ Buddha
Hey! I am Chris Sussman, AKA The BBQ Buddha, a two-time published author, pit master, influencer, content creator, and all-around personality.
I first started honing my BBQ craft in the Washington D.C. area in 2009, before making the move to Gulfport, Florida in 2020. I won the national Big Green Egg festival’s top honor (Eggtoberfest’s People’s Choice Award) in 2017 with my cook team “Eggcellent Eats”. Now, I am a member of the Big Green Egg Pro Staff and my recipes are featured on their website and affiliated social media channels.
During BBQ season you can catch me cooking for Big Green Egg and my other sponsors Snake River Farms & Dizzy Pig BBQ Seasonings at festivals around the country.
In October of 2018, I decided I was ready to turn The BBQ Buddha into my full-time gig. I re-launched the brand, the website and expanded my offerings to include pop-ups and grilling classes. Since that time my Instagram account, @the_bbq_buddha, has grown to well over 120K followers.
My goal is to teach people how to make incredible food — grilled meat, smoked dishes, with all the fixin’s — without having to rely on recipes and other aides

Bringing a new ethos into the mix, “Grilling By Feel™,” my goal is to teach people how to make incredible food — grilled meat, smoked dishes, with all the fixin’s — without having to rely on recipes and other aides. Instead, I try my best to guide them towards confidence in using their senses to tell when a cook is done. Sight, smell, touch, and especially taste. I published my first book, “The Fundamentals of Smoking” in April 2021 through Page Street Publishing. My second book will be published in early 2023.

Why are you excited to be a St Pierre ambassador?
When I started creating content for social media, I knew I had to work with brands that I use and love and St Pierre is at the top of that list. My job is so much easier when I work with a product that is so good it sells itself. Having the opportunity to share my passion for this amazing company is a great way to start 2023!!!
What's your favorite St Pierre product?
Your Brioche Burger Buns are my absolute favorite. The buns are soft and buttery which makes the perfect foundation for my burgers. When I serve a burger on these golden buns people know immediately they are in for something special.
