
Christmas Mince Pie Croissants Pudding
A light but festive dessert everyone will love
Think mince pie crossed with a bread and butter pudding, but with croissants!
Ingredients
- 1 pack of 8 St Pierre Croissants With Butter
- 1 tsp butter
- 1 cup sweet mincemeat, from a jar
- 2 cups ready-made custard sauce
- ¼ cup whole or skim milk
- ⅔ cup whole milk
- Zest of 1 orange
- Powdered sugar (confectioners sugar)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F/Gas 4
- Depending on what dishes you have at home, grease either one large or two smaller ovenproof dishes with the butter
- Slice the 8 St Pierre croissants in half lengthways and spread each with some of the mincemeat, reserving a little for the top. Arrange the bottom halves in the dish(es)
- Mix the milk and the custard sauce and pour half over the croissants in the dish
- Add the tops of the croissants and pour the rest of the custard mixture over the top and leave for 15 minutes to soak in
- Dot the remaining mincemeat over the top of the dish, and sprinkle on the orange zest
- Cover the dish loosely with foil and place on a baking tray
- Bake fin the oven for 25-35 minutes (depending on the size of your dishes) or until the egg mixture is just set
- Dust over the powdered sugar before serving
