Christmas Savory Croissant Bake

Prep: 50 minutes Serves: 8

Perfect for the family to share, this indulgent but light croissant bake will be a firm favorite this Christmas

Ingredients

1 pack St Pierre Croissants x 8
8 slices thick cut ham
1-2 tsp Dijon mustard
8 slices cheese, such as cheddar or Monterey Jack
2 cups fresh spinach leaves
4 eggs
¼ cups whole milk
¼ cups half and half cream
1 tsp butter
2 tsp fresh chives, chopped
2 tsp fresh parsley, chopped
Black pepper

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F/Gas 4
  2. Slice the 8 St Pierre croissants in half lengthways and spread a small amount of Dijon mustard on each one
  3. Fill each sliced croissant with a slice of ham, a slice of cheese and some spinach leaves. Season with pepper and a few of the chopped herbs
  4. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, milk and cream and season with pepper
  5. Grease an ovenproof dish with the butter and arrange the croissants in the dish. Pour in the egg mixture and leave for 15 minutes to soak in
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes or until the egg mixture is almost set. Remove the foil and bake for a further 10-15 minutes
